Loft conversions.
Dormer, hip-to-gable, mansard and Velux conversions, including en suites, staircases and insulation. We match you with one vetted UK loft specialist who checks head height honestly and delivers a room that meets building regulations in full.

What we cover
Every type of loft project.
Dormer conversions
The most common UK conversion, adding full standing height and floor area with a flat or pitched dormer to the rear.
Hip-to-gable
Squaring off a sloping side roof on a semi or end terrace to unlock enough width for a proper bedroom and en suite.
Mansard conversions
A near-vertical rear wall that maximises headroom and floor space, often used on period terraces in conservation areas.
Velux conversions
Roof-light only conversions for lofts that already have the height, keeping cost down and disruption to a minimum.
En suites and plumbing
New bathrooms with correct pump, waste routing and ventilation so pressure and drainage work properly at roof level.
Staircases and fire safety
Compliant staircases, protected escape routes, fire doors and interlinked alarms designed in from the start.

FAQ
Loft conversion questions, answered.
How much does a loft conversion cost?+
A Velux conversion typically starts around £25,000, a rear dormer runs £40,000 to £65,000 and a hip-to-gable or mansard often falls between £55,000 and £85,000 depending on specification and region.
Do I have enough head height?+
As a rule of thumb you need at least 2.2 metres from the top of the ceiling joist to the underside of the ridge. Your specialist will measure on the first visit and confirm which conversion type suits your roof.
How long does a loft conversion take?+
Most conversions take six to ten weeks on site. Scaffolding and the roof opening happen early, then the majority of work is contained upstairs.
Do I need planning permission?+
Many loft conversions fall under permitted development, though mansards, conservation areas and flats usually need a full application. Building regulations approval is always required, and your specialist arranges it.
